It was a perfect, blue-bird Saturday at the Rip -N- Roast BBQ session hosted by Jon Julio and Them Goods (and a whole mess of other sponsors). As Mike Opalek and Eric Sauer kept the grills roastin’ 100+ bladers got the skatepark rippin’. Crews rolled in from all over SoCall and more than one person noticed an abundance of new faces. There was also more young kids on blades than I’ve seen anywhere except Camp Woodward. The combination of these elements made for a great afternoon that no one in attendance will soon forget. And if you were lucky or smart enough to stay the very end, you might have caught 1/4 of the OG Senate team and some other old school pioneers out there on the transitions keeping the dream alive.
